• Harding Steinbrenner Racing looking forward to competing on the Iowa Speedway short oval this weekend

This weekend Harding Steinbrenner Racing will compete on the first short oval of the 2019 NTT IndyCar Series schedule in the Iowa 300. Rookie Colton Herta will pilot the #88 Harding Steinbrenner Racing Honda under the lights at Iowa Speedway’s 7/8-mile (0.894-mile) track.
Valenica, California native, Herta has previous experience around the  Iowa Speedway short oval in an Indy Lights car while driving for Andretti-Steinbrenner Racing in 2017 and 2018. He has one pole starting position and two top-five finishes.
“We’ll be anxious to see how Colton does this weekend at Iowa Speedway in the Iowa 300,” said team president, Brian Barnhart. “Iowa Speedway is the last new-style venue for him in his NTT IndyCar Series rookie season. He did a great job on the superspeedways at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway, now we’re excited to see how he’ll do on a short oval. He’s done great all season long with tremendous pace and competitiveness at all the other venues, so we’re hoping we can keep that here. The forecast is projecting a very hot weekend, so it will be interesting to see how that affects the competition as we look for another great result.”
“I’m looking forward to racing at Iowa Speedway again,” said Colton Herta. “I ran there in Indy Lights last year and loved it. I’m especially looking forward to the added horsepower that INDYCAR is putting in the Honda engines. And we’re finally racing at night at Iowa Speedway which will be a lot of fun. I think racing at night will open up the second lane which will hopefully allow more passing and create a great show for the fans!”
