• Impressive Eighth Place Finish for Colton Herta at Mid-Ohio

The #88 Capstone Turbine Honda team had its fifth top-ten finish this weekend in the Honda 200 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Colton Herta qualified for the 203.22-mile race in seventh position and ran in the top-ten for the majority of the 90-lap competition. The rookie from Valencia, California, finished the race in eighth at the checkered flag.
“I’m really happy for the #88 Capstone Turbine Honda guys and Colton,” said Brian Barnhart, team president of Harding Steinbrenner Racing. “Everyone did a great job all weekend. I thought our strategy was sound with a three-stop pit stop strategy along with the use of Firestone alternate and primary tires. It’s unfortunate that we got collected with Bourdais in turn two, so we lost a lot of valuable time that we were making up. That most likely made the difference in us finishing on the podium today. It’s a shame, but everyone did a great job all weekend long.”
“The Honda 200 was an unfortunate race for me today because I know the #88 Capstone Turbine Honda car was capable of getting on the podium,” said Colton Herta. “So, it’s disappointing that we finished eighth. The boys worked so hard this weekend. We had excellent pit stops, the car had strong pace and we should still feel good about a top-ten finish. Looking forward to getting back on track at Pocono Raceway in a few weeks!”
